The printability of a substrate is its aptitude to receive an ink film. The printed material must not degrade during post-printing operations (cutting, folding, thermal treatments, etc.) or during its final use.
This article defines the different types of substrates, their printability criteria and details their printability as a function of the type of ink used according to the following headings:
1/ Different substrates and their printability criteria
2/ Printability with conventional Offset printing inks
3/ Printability with UV inks
4/Printability with Flexo / Gravure inks
