The Imprim’Vert® label is awarded to printers that meet the requirements of an environmental specification.
The P2i (French Printing Innovation Centre), the owner of the Imprim’Vert®1 brand name, is responsible for harmonisation within France.
The label can be awarded to any producer of printed materials located within the European Union, whatever
the printing process used (offset, reprography / digital, serigraphy / large format digital, flexo, gravure).
By the end of 2007, more than 1000 graphic production sites had undertaken actions to include the Imprim’Vert® specification in their environmental protection procedures.
How to obtain the Imprim’Vert® label
Obtaining the label is based on the principle of external audits. The actions implemented by the printer have to be audited in order to ensure they comply with the requirements of the specification.
To this end, the P2i has set up a network of Imprim’Vert agents accredited to carry out such audits.
There are now nearly 150 agents, in most cases Chamber of Trade and Chamber of Commerce officers, who bring the label to life throughout France.
The label cannot, in any circumstances, be obtained through self-declaration.

Environmental awareness when receiving the public.
In 1999, the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry and the FICG (French Printing and Graphic Industry Federation) awarded the AMIGRAF (French Association for the Graphic Industry and Vocational Training) the status of P2i (Printing Innovation Centre), thereby entrusting it with the general mission of informing and supporting small printing firms and businesses on innovative aspects and new printing technologies. In addition to its mission of providing support in keeping in pace with technological progress, since the start of 2007 the P2i has been responsible for awarding the Imprim’Vert® label throughout France.
